Underground, Tube and Railway Signs

The '1938 stock' underground trains shown below were equipped with brass-ended, double-sided enameled steel destination signs which fitted in slots behind the lower front window. These original signs, were expensive to replace and self-adhesive overlays came about. These unused self-adhesive overlays date from the 1940s and are approx 26 inch x 9 inch, overall framed size.

All the signs that are not easy to catagorise. For example 'Way out' and other directive and information signs. As always they are Original.

These rare temporary station signs are original genuine old London Underground unused stock. They'd be pasted onto safety shuttering or hoardings when building works obscured permanent signs or signage was being overhauled. All of these signs are very rare but some even more so. These date back at least 40 years. A few of each are available and once they're gone there's no more. Please expect some very light evidence of storage, shades and sizes vary slightly. Overall Framed Size is 35 inch x 10 inch approx.
